Pilgrim Academy's very own "Royal Wedding" today. Viktoria Parashkevova (5) and Jacob Clark (5) played the roles of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, with Revd Julie Donn officiating.
Move over Meghan and Harry … Pilgrim Academy Early Years' pupils have celebrated British values and democracy with their very own 'Friendship Wedding' today to mark the biggest event of the year. With the Royal couple walking down the aisle tomorrow, pupils brought their own celebrations to life with a ceremony performed by local vicar, the Revd Julie Donn of St Andrew's Church, Immingham.
Revd Donn officiated at the Friendship Wedding of Viktoria Parashkevova (5) and Jacob Clark (5). Songs, prayers and readings were performed by the pupils. Haribo sweets were exchanged as rings. The ceremony was followed by a wedding breakfast with speeches from the Groom and the Best Man, Mackenzie Parker (5). The afternoons celebrations concluded with a party. This special event was captured on camera by Pilgrim's very own Early Years photographers, Mia-Louise Goodwin (5) and Cody Gibson (5).
Revd Donn said: "I am honoured to be invited to officiate at this event. It was really good fun."
Christine Lacey, Pilgrim Academy Executive Principal, said: "This was such a lovely event within the academy. The young children are excited about the Royal Wedding and being able to have their own ceremony with everyone having a role was a great way of demonstrating the process to them."
