Pilgrim Academy pupils got a taste of life at sea when they toured the Ross Tiger, the oldest diesel side-trawler to survive in the UK, on a visit to Grimsby's Fishing Heritage Centre.
As part of their 'Beyond Our Back Garden' studies, the Year 5 and 6 pupils met Dennis Avery, the longest-serving skipper on the Ross Tiger. He showed them around the trawler and treated them to tales of life at sea during Grimsby's fishing heyday.
Pupil Freddie Walker said: "It was interesting to see what it must have been like living on a trawler at sea."
