Anti-Bullying Week/Children in Need

As you will know from the flyer sent out on Tuesday 14 November, this is Anti-Bullying Week. Getting involved is a great way to take a stand against bullying and to raise awareness in the Academy. During PSHE lessons, the children have been working on activities to promote kindness and caring towards each other. To end the week, we are encouraging the children to wear odd socks on Friday 17 November 2017. We would like the children to wear the craziest socks they can find, the brighter and bolder the better.

Funds raised through Children in Need support anti-bullying charities across the country, so, on Friday, we are linking our theme of anti-bullying with the annual Children in Need appeal. If your child would like to wear 'Pudsey Bear' rather than odd socks, then that would be great.

Although Pilgrim Academy is not dressing up and fund raising for Children in Need this year, the purpose behind Children in Need appeal will be shared with the children in their assemblies on Friday and they will be encouraged to join in and contribute to community fund-raising events.

As a Multi Academy Trust, we are passionate about supporting different local and national charities and as the year progresses, our children will be involved in fund raising: for example, for the British Heart Foundation, Sport Relief and Save the Children (Christmas jumper day).

Mrs Stephenson

Unfortunately Mrs Stephenson is not with us in the Academy at the moment.

After returning from her holiday she slipped and has broken her leg in two places.

We all wish her well for a speedy recovery.
