Celebrations For Year 2!

Our Year 2 pupils shared a delightful transition assembly with parents on Monday afternoon. The experiences they have had over the past two years in KS1 were brought back to life for us and it was great to see every child participate and celebrate the super learning. I know the children couldn't have done it without the support of the KS1 teaching team – thank you!

Year 6 Bring The House Down!

The Year 6 performance was a fabulous show; so many talented actors and comedians! It made the audience laugh and it made the audience cry. It was such a well-crafted performance with great props, music and backdrops; thank you to the pupils and a huge thank you to Mrs Brown, Mrs Blease and Mr Partlett!

Celebration Assembly 24 July 2017

It is our last star celebration assembly on Monday. You know if you've been invited by now. The assembly starts at 9:10am – I look forward to seeing you there.

Year 6 Leaver Assembly 25 July 2017

The final touches are being added to the trip down memory lane. Year 6 parents and friends are invited for a 9:10am start on Tuesday.

Rounders Tournament

Reynolds Academy challenged us to a rounders match and our year five pupils with Miss Kapka and Mr Hall were ready for the contest. It proved to be a tough game but the teams played brilliantly and the end result was a draw. We will have to have a re-match!

Attendance Winners

Chaffinches and Kingfishers are joint winners this week with 98%, every class was above 93%, with three quarters of classes above the national expected attendance. Well done!

Coming In To School – New Morning Arrangements

On Monday, the KS2 classes will congregate on the back KS2 playground and line up at 9am. The teachers will lead in their classes from the playground. Parents may escort pupils down the side path to the playground if they wish but staff will be out on the playground from 8:45am. Please follow the signs and ask a member of staff if you are unsure.

KS1 pupils will line up on the KS1 playground and when the bell is rung, teachers will lead in their classes. Teachers will be out from 8:45am.

Reception and Nursery children continue with the present morning routine.

Uniform Vouchers

Please collect the uniform voucher for your child before the academy closes on Tuesday 25 July at 3:30pm.

School Meals – Change Your Class Name

Please remember to change your child's class on the Aspen's website so that the meals are ready for when your child starts back in September. Changes cannot be made before 1 August. (Meal letter went out on Friday 14 July. If you need a new one, please come to the office.)

So Long & Farewell!

As we say goodbye to our super year six pupils, we also say au revoir to some teaching staff too. Some are moving within the trust and others are heading to pastures new; they have all made their contribution to the school. I know you will join with me in thanking them for supporting the learning of the children and wish them all the best for their future ventures.

Mrs Elvin and Mrs Gardham are leaving nursery and Miss Smith says goodbye to reception. Miss Walker is getting married and moving closer to home. Miss Hinson is taking her talents back to Grimsby. Mrs Hurton and Miss Mann are moving within the trust. We also say goodbye to Mr Brown, Mrs Brady and Mrs Bartley. Thank you all for your input!

New teaching staff are joining us too. We welcome Miss Murray, Miss Stanhope, Mrs Backrath, Mrs Ireson and Mrs Backhouse. I am sure you have already seen Mrs Stephenson, the assistant principal who has joined us this term.

Academy Opens Again

Our academy re-opens for pupils on Tuesday 5 September.

And Finally…

It only remains for me to thank you for your support throughout this year and I hope you all have a fabulous summer holiday!
